Tamasudare
The English Rakugo Association has several masters of the bamboo mat presentation called Tamasudare, which adds a pleasant and glamorous flavor to the rakugo show.
Shirato Master Instructor (Shihan)
Bamboo Mat Show called Tamasudare begins with the words "Look, look, look, look, look...". Although I had been interested in it for a long time, I could not take the first step, but through English rakugo, I began to attend Tamadare classes of the Shirato school, and a year later I was given a license of natori (master). Since then, I have had the opportunity to perform Tamasudare both in Japanese and English.
Unlike Kabuki and the tea ceremony, this traditional performing art is not well known to foreigners, but it makes me really happy when I am given favorable feedback from foreign audiences. In December 2020, I was certified as shihan (instructor), so I would like to spread this classical performing art to the world along with English rakugo.

From traditional Japanese popular songs called hauta in the Edo period to modern Japanese songs, Eiraku will sing in both Japanese and English, accompanying himself on the ukulele. The program includes “Furusato,” one of Japan’s most beloved songs; “Ue o Muite Arukō” (Sukiyaki), a worldwide hit by Kyu Sakamoto; and “Yan’nacchatta-bushi,” a popular song by Shinji Maki that was a huge hit in Japan in the 1960s and ’70s.

A comedic puppet show by Yuntakuz, a duo of childhood friends from Okinawa. Their name comes from the Okinawan word “yuntaku,” meaning “chatting.” Their fast-paced banter draws the audience into the act and fills the venue with laughter.
