Enjoy the full experience of a traditional Japanese Yose theater in English!
In addition to Rakugo, our performances feature Tamasudare (Japanese bamboo mat shows), ukulele comedy, magic, and shamisen comedy.
We perform twice a month in Asakusa, Tokyo, to enthusiastic audiences. We also offer touring performances and English Rakugo workshops. Feel free to contact us for more information.

About the English Rakugo Association
The English Rakugo Association was established in Tokyo in October 2020 with the aim of promoting English rakugo both in Japan and abroad.
The Association is currently run by four members: Kanariya Eiraku, Representative Director; Kanariya Ichirin and Kanariya Koraku, Directors; and Kanariya Simon, Auditor.
Our main activities are English rakugo performances and bilingual rakugo performances in Japanese and English, held twice a month at the Asakusa Culture Tourist Information Center. We also organize English rakugo performances and English rakugo workshops at the request of schools, companies, and other organizations.

About the English Rakugo Club
The English Rakugo Club brings together people from a wide range of backgrounds—including students, business professionals, teachers, tour interpreters, and entrepreneurs—who share a common passion for English rakugo and inspire and support one another in developing their skills.
About our Activities
English Rakugo Workshop
When we hold English rakugo performances at schools or companies, we also offer interactive workshops where audience members can take part. By learning short English rakugo stories and traditional gestures, participants can become more involved and connected, making the event even more engaging and memorable.
Variety Acts
The English Rakugo Association has several certified masters and associate masters of the Shirato School of Tamasudare, who add an extra touch of fun and variety to our rakugo performances. In addition to Tamasudare, audiences can also enjoy ukulele, shamisen, puppet show, magic, and more.
